I was employed by Tayside Police for 11 years, working within the Force’s Corporate Communications Department as the lead for website, intranet and social media projects.

  • Responsible for the design, development & day-to-day management of the Force’s websites using a state-of the-art commercial content management system.
  • Responsible for the design & development of a bespoke Intranet, including developing content and document management systems, and day-to-day management of all intranet content using these systems.
  • Responsible for social media strategy and the management of all Force social media accounts to make best use of current & emerging social media platforms to assist the role of the Corporate Communications Department in ensuring that the Force could communicate effectively and engage directly with the public.
  • Responsible for growing the Force’s social media audience to the extent that it became the largest of any public sector organisation in Scotland, at the time.
  • Take ownership of and responsibility for maintaining the force Corporate Identity Manual.
  • Give advice and guidance to senior managers and senior officers regarding digital media developments.
