Gairloch Marine Life Centre & Cruises
This website was designed and developed for a business offering boat cruises to see whales, dolphins and other marine life based on the north-west coast. They also undertake research work in the field of marine biology. The site contains a wealth of information about the business, the cruises they offer and the work that they do. There is also information about the species you are likely to encounter on one of their trips. In addition, there is a wide selection of photographs, both in the main content of the site and within a special gallery section. Visitors to the site also have the ability to check the availability of trips on a specific date or time and can also send a 'postcard' directly from the site to their friends. The project involved the development of a content management system that allows all the text on all of the pages to be altered when required without the need for any technical knowledge. The business owners can keep the content up-to-date at all times. The design of the site - the 'look and feel' - is simple but sophisticated, with an easy to use navigation structure and enough white space on each page to be easy on the eye.
